1987 ARS was founded by Rich and Stan Piltch in the basement of their brother’s home in Brookline, MA. Originally, ARS began as a painting and cleaning company, employing only one other person – their mother.
1988 ARS moved out of Rich and Stan’s brother’s basement and moved into the basement of an office building.
1990 ARS relocated to the basement of a three-family house in Brookline, MA and began performing commercial and residential construction and basic repairs.
1991 ARS reached 15 employees.
1992 An ARS client had a dryer fire in their home and asked ARS to clean the smoke damage, marking ARS’ entrance into the restoration industry. Shortly thereafter, Rich traveled to Pittsburgh to learn how to properly clean and dry property damage.
1993 ARS bought its first 50 blowers and 10 dehumidifiers.
1994 ARS moved to commercial space in Brighton, Massachusetts and reached 30 employees and over 200 pieces of equipment.
1996 ARS opened its first office in Newton, Massachusetts of 5,000 square feet.
1999 ARS joined Business Networks as a commitment to continue to strive for excellence in the restoration industry. Business Networks is comprised of non-competing restoration business owners working together to discuss industry issues and best practices.
2004 ARS opened its second office in Rhode Island.
2005 ARS opened its third office in Central Massachusetts and reached 60 employees and over 750 pieces of equipment.
2006 ARS began fundraising for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, an organization that provides resources to women in the New England area battling breast cancer.
2006 ARS built a 20,000-square foot corporate headquarters, including a state of the art training facility, in Newton, Massachusetts.
2007 ARS opened its fourth office, located in Southern New Hampshire, and reached 75 employees.
2009 ARS opens its fifth office in Western Massachusetts and reaches 90 employees.
2010 ARS became a founding member of Restoration Affiliates, a network of independently owned disaster restoration companies throughout the United States.
2011 ARS opened its sixth office in Connecticut and reached 115 employees.
2012 ARS opened its seventh office on Cape Cod and reached 130 employees and over 4,000 pieces of equipment.
2013 ARS began fundraising for the Ellie Fund, a non-profit that helps fight breast cancer by providing free services to breast cancer patients to help ease the effects on patients and families.
2014 ARS & Friends exceed $1 Million in total donations for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation and the Ellie Fund.
2015 ARS expanded its corporate headquarters in Newton, Massachusetts.
2016 ARS celebrated its 30th anniversary at its 17th Annual Insurance Symposium. ARS & Friends exceeded $3 Million in lifetime donations to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation and the Ellie Fund.
2017 ARS has approximately 150 dedicated employees with an excess of 6,000 pieces of equipment.
